These are the "Original" design of the Rider Waite cards, and not to be confused with the "Radiant" version of Rider Waite cards where the colours have been enhanced.

Arthur Edward Waite (1857-1942) was a leading scholar of the occult who produced the Rider Waite deck in 1910 in collaboration with artist Pamela Colman Smith.

It has been the best selling Tarot deck of the twentieth century. Each card is rich in symbolism and clear in its design. It doesn't have the more modern appeal of some recently published decks with Angels, Dragons, Crystals etc, but there are many subtleties in these paintings, which means that years after starting to use this deck you will be noticing new details. Many Tarot books use the Rider Waite deck for their illustrations.

This is a great Tarot deck for beginners and for advanced even though the Instructions are basic, but you would do well to improve your craft by visiting some YouTube videos or books with more detail about the meanings. We can certainly recommend Terry Donaldson's book, "Step-by-Step Tarot - The Bestselling Introduction" or Liz Dean's book "The Ultimate Guide to Tarot" which is an excellent beginners guide to get you started with your Tarot journey.
