TEIWAZ (also spelt Tiwaz) is the symbol of victory, the fighting spirit, law and order. The Vikings would charge into battle with the rune on their helmets and swords. The rune was named after Tyr (or Tiw), the Nordic sky God of Law and Justice, a war god. Tyr sacrificed his hand to the wolf Fenrir in order to save his fellow Aesir from destruction, so Teiwaz is also associated with self-sacrifice and being a leader of people. Teiwaz represents one's inner strength, honour and good character, not a drunken brawl or an arm wrestling contest. If you draw Teiwaz in a runecast, it often assures a successful outcome: whether in love, business, health or life in general. This dosn't mean you wont be challenged, but if you are, Teiwaz will give you the energy, strength, inner fortitude and ability to win through.
