The Triskele or Triskelion, is a motif consisting of three interlocking spirals. It can be found on artwork and everyday objects dating back to Neolithic, Bronze Age, and Iron Age use in Europe. It is considered a Celtic symbol but is in fact a pre-Celtic symbol. It is carved into the rock of a stone lozenge near the main entrance of the prehistoric Newgrange monument in County Meath, Ireland ~ which was built around 3200 BCE. Like the Triquetra symbol, it symbolises a variety of triplicities in Pagan, Celtic, Norse and Neo-Pagan cosmology and theology, such as "Mind, Body, Spirit"; "Past, Present, Future"; "Land, Sea, Sky"; "Creation, Preservation, Destruction"; "Mother, Maiden, Crone" etc..
In much of our early art, Dragons and beasts were a common feature of Celtic designs.
