The wording on the packaging reads: "Eye of Horus - Originating from ancient Egypt, this talisman was worn to bestow upon its wearer blessing of Health, Strength, Vigour, and protecting from evil eye".
The Eye of Horus was formerly known as "The Wadjat", and represented the all-seeing eye of the Solar Goddess Wadjet. Later, when Horus fought with his brother Set for the throne of Egypt, his right eye was injured, and was healed by Thoth - so the Eye became the symbol of renewal and re-birth. This symbol is also associated with Ra, the father of all Pharoahs, who gave them divinity. Both Ra and Horus are depicted as having Falcon heads, and therefore the symbol represents the Falcon shaped right eye. Now it is worn as protection against Evil Eye or "negativity" from others
