Horses are often featured in Norse Mythology and stone carvings, as the steeds upon which the Aesir were transported. The most famous is probably Odin's Horse, Sleipnir, who had eight legs and was the fastest steed. From the Edda Grimnismal, we have this information - "Glad and Gyllir, Gler and Skeidbrimir, Sillfrintopp and Sinir, Gisl and Falhofnir, Gulltopp and Lettfeti; on these steeds the Æsir each day ride, when they to council go, at Yggdrasil’s ash."
* Frequently Asked Question about this item: What do the runes say around the edge? We are sorry, but we do not know the answer to that. There are many books and online information about the translation of our early runes. These ones seem to be based on the Futhark runes, probably with some later additions.
