Hare Trinity is a pagan motif which has been found in China (earliest example in caves near Dunhuang 589-618 AD), India, Russia, and across Europe and Briton, and the symbol still exists today. The illusion is that although there are three hares in the symbol, the ears join to look like two. Ostara (Oestre, Eastre) is the Anglo-Saxon Goddess associated with East, resurrection, re-birth, spring and dawn. She is also the Maiden aspect of the three-fold Goddess. Pagans of old made offerings of coloured eggs to her at the Vernal Equinox. She is associated with rabbits and hares. The hare and the moon are also associated with Immortality ~ because the Hare is a symbol of the Moon. Hare was supposed to have laid the Cosmic Egg from which all life emerged.
